Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Flowers And Trees by Fang Xun was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,602.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Xun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tea Tasting in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 2,670,000.00 (€ 264,779.80).
