A top price for Fang Jiekan
This artwork by Fang Jiekan achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2015. In the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction, the work Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script sold for HKD 96,760.00 (€ 11,304.15) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. This high result makes Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script the most expensive artwork by Fang Jiekan that we have observed at auctions so far.
