Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wood Road #2 by Fairfield Porter was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 8,287.50 (€ 8,028.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fairfield Porter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Schooner II in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Wood Road #2 von Fairfield Porter kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 8.028,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fairfield Porter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Schooner II im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.932.500,00 (€ 1.655.955,44).
