This work of art by Fairfield Porter could be acquired at Bonhams in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction, the work The Christmas Tree (Fire Place and Rocker) changed hands for USD 535.50 (€ 502.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fairfield Porter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Schooner II in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44).
