Auction result well in line with expectations
The work South Meadow by Fairfield Porter was sold in the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,147.50 (€ 1,077.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fairfield Porter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Schooner II in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit South Meadow von Fairfield Porter wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.147,50 (€ 1.077,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fairfield Porter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Schooner II im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.932.500,00 (€ 1.655.955,44).
