The 'Casa de Pilotos' was formerly the Palace of the Dukes of Medina, Sidonia; and is now the site of Andalucia's principal archive and is celebrated as the outstanding example of mock 'madeja' architecture.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Casa de Pilotos, Seville by Fernando Liger Hidalgo was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2001. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,517.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Liger Hidalgo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Moorish Interior in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,703.10).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 940,00 (€ 1.517,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Liger Hidalgo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish Moorish Interior im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.703,10).
