In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Dean Swift At St. James'S Coffee House, 1710, 'A Note To Stella' by Eyre Crowe. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,379.02) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eyre Crowe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Foundry in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 29,875.00 (€ 43,616.56).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dean Swift At St. James'S Coffee House, 1710, 'A Note To Stella' von Eyre Crowe zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.379,02) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eyre Crowe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Foundry im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.875,00 (€ 43.616,56).
