Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 54 by Ewa Juszkiewicz was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 100,800.00 (€ 13,116.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ewa Juszkiewicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Lady (After Louis Leopold Boilly) in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,560,000.00 (€ 1,453,732.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 54 von Ewa Juszkiewicz im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 100.800,00 (€ 13.116,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ewa Juszkiewicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady (After Louis Leopold Boilly) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.560.000,00 (€ 1.453.732,18).
