This artwork by Evgeni Alexandrovich Lanceray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2007. In the 19th Century European Art, including Spanish and Orientalist Art auction, the work Hunter with lion cubs sold for GBP 48,000.00 (€ 71,229.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Evgeni Alexandrovich Lanceray; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Bronze Group Of The Warrior Svyatoslav sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 115,343.06).
