A top price for Evelyn Williams - as previously expected
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Waiting for the Day by Evelyn Williams. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,034.00 (€ 1,497.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Waiting for the Day is the most expensive artwork by Evelyn Williams that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waiting for the Day von Evelyn Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.034,00 (€ 1.497,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Waiting for the Day das teuerste Kunstwerk von Evelyn Williams, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
