Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British clytie by Evelyn de Morgan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. The price achieved of USD 360,500.00 (€ 320,843.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Evelyn de Morgan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gloria in Excelsis, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 622,500.00 (€ 695,387.98).
