Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Search-Light by Evelyn de Morgan was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,600.00 (€ 90,279.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Evelyn de Morgan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gloria in Excelsis in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 622,500.00 (€ 695,387.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Search-Light von Evelyn de Morgan kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 90.279,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Evelyn de Morgan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gloria in Excelsis im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 622.500,00 (€ 695.387,98).
