Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Golf on Solar Eclipse, 1988 by Eve Sonneman was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 377.96). Other works by Eve Sonneman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2009 by the work Rose with Volcanic Ash, 1981 at USD 687.50 (€ 536.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Golf on Solar Eclipse, 1988 von Eve Sonneman im April 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 500,00 (€ 377,96) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Eve Sonneman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2009 die Arbeit Rose with Volcanic Ash, 1981 mit USD 687,50 (€ 536,94).
