This artwork by Eugenio Cecconi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2006. In the 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures auction, the work The bottle collector sold for GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,243.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugenio Cecconi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bivacco di cacciatori (1885-1890) in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 422,750,000.00 (€ 379,957.31).
