This artwork by Eugène Cuvelier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2007. In the An Important Collection of Photographs by Eugène and Adalbert Cuvelier auction, the work 'Hêtre Près Du Bodmer' sold for USD 276,000.00 (€ 202,049.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Eugène Cuvelier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Village De Rivière' sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
