Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'Franchard' (Figure On Rock Formation) by Eugène Cuvelier was sold in the An Important Collection of Photographs by Eugène and Adalbert Cuvelier auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2007. It achieved a price of USD 72,000.00 (€ 52,708.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugène Cuvelier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Village De Rivière', which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).

Die Arbeit 'Franchard' (Figure On Rock Formation) von Eugène Cuvelier wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion An Important Collection of Photographs by Eugène and Adalbert Cuvelier bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 52.708,64) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugène Cuvelier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Village De Rivière' beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 288.000,00 (€ 210.834,55) versteigert wurde.
