Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work Itjantjarra by Eubena Nampitjin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,076.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eubena Nampitjin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Near Jupiter Well In The Great Sandy Desert, W.A. in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,174.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Itjantjarra von Eubena Nampitjin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 7.200,00 (€ 4.076,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eubena Nampitjin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Near Jupiter Well In The Great Sandy Desert, W.A. im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.174,85).
