Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Snake Charmer by Ettore Simonetti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 89,625.00 (€ 77,203.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ettore Simonetti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The carpet merchant in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 553,250.00 (€ 702,910.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Snake Charmer von Ettore Simonetti zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 89.625,00 (€ 77.203,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ettore Simonetti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The carpet merchant im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 553.250,00 (€ 702.910,35).
