Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Phillips in New York held the auction The Great Wonderful: 100 Years of Italian Art, which included the work Meridiana Quadrata by Ettore Colla. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,794.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ettore Colla - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Concerto, which sold at auction in April 2013 for EUR 127,200.00.
