The work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length by Étienne Aubry was sold in the Old Masters auction at Christies in New York in October 2016. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,244.85) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Étienne Aubry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'La Turque', presumed portrait of Mademoiselle Duthé (1748-1830), mistress of the Comte d'Artois, full-length, reclining on an 'ottomane' in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,460.64).
