Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sleeping Passengers, Greyhound Bus Terminal, New York City, c. 1949 by Esther Bubley was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,516.76). Other works by Esther Bubley have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2012 by the work In the Waiting Room, Greyhound Bus Terminal, New York, c. 1949 at USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,895.95).

Als die Arbeit Sleeping Passengers, Greyhound Bus Terminal, New York City, c. 1949 von Esther Bubley im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.516,76) den Besitzer.
