Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Esther Bubley could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work New York Harbor, Looking Toward Manhattan from the Footpath on Brooklyn Bridge, October, 1946 changed hands for USD 437.50 (€ 280.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Esther Bubley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Waiting Room, Greyhound Bus Terminal, New York, c. 1949 in December 2012 with an auction result of USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,895.95).
