Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work A tug leaving port in heavy weather by Erwin Carl Wilhelm Günter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,378.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erwin Carl Wilhelm Günter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing into the harbour, which sold at auction in January 2002 for EUR 4,700.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit A tug leaving port in heavy weather von Erwin Carl Wilhelm Günter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.378,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Erwin Carl Wilhelm Günter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing into the harbour beobachtet, die im Januar 2002 für EUR 4.700,00 versteigert wurde.
