Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II, which included the work The Abolition of Donnybrook Fair by Erskine Nicol. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,467.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Erskine Nicol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Salmon Fishing in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,635.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Abolition of Donnybrook Fair von Erskine Nicol zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.467,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Erskine Nicol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Salmon Fishing im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 70.635,25).
