A top price for Erskine Nicol - as previously expected
In May 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Salmon Fishing by Erskine Nicol. The price achieved of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,635.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Salmon Fishing is the most expensive artwork by Erskine Nicol that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Salmon Fishing von Erskine Nicol zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 70.635,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Salmon Fishing das teuerste Kunstwerk von Erskine Nicol, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
