Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Butterfly On A Ledge by Ernst Stuven was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2011. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,428.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Stuven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, a lily and convulvulus in a glass vase, with two red admiral butterflies and a caterpillar, on a wooden ledge, which sold at auction in April 2005 for GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,927.86).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.428,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
