In May 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Peaches, apricots and grapes on a marble ledge by Ernst Stuven. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 22,325.00 (€ 10,754.55), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ernst Stuven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, a lily and convulvulus in a glass vase, with two red admiral butterflies and a caterpillar, on a wooden ledge in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,927.86).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peaches, apricots and grapes on a marble ledge von Ernst Stuven zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 22.325,00 (€ 10.754,55) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernst Stuven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, a lily and convulvulus in a glass vase, with two red admiral butterflies and a caterpillar, on a wooden ledge im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 79.927,86).
