A top price for Ernst Czernotzky - as previously expected
The work Oriental still life by Ernst Czernotzky was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,782.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Oriental still life is the most expensive artwork by Ernst Czernotzky that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Oriental still life von Ernst Czernotzky wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.782,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Oriental still life das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ernst Czernotzky, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
