Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The fishing fleet in a calm by Ernest Stuart. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 1,137.71). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Stuart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The racing yawl Bingo off the Nab Lightship, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit The fishing fleet in a calm von Ernest Stuart zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 812,50 (€ 1.137,71) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Stuart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The racing yawl Bingo off the Nab Lightship beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.828,16) versteigert wurde.
