Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Landscape with Pond and Poplars by Ernest Parton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,157.50 (€ 8,263.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Parton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work When Lingering Daylight Welcomes Night, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 23,500.00 (€ 27,794.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with Pond and Poplars von Ernest Parton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.157,50 (€ 8.263,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Parton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit When Lingering Daylight Welcomes Night beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 23.500,00 (€ 27.794,20) versteigert wurde.
