Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Exotic blooms by the church steps; and A bridge above a viaduct over a Mediterranean gorge by Ernest-Louis Lessieux. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,788.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest-Louis Lessieux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Beauty Paddling By The Dunes, The Ile D' Oléron, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,093.37).

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exotic blooms by the church steps; and A bridge above a viaduct over a Mediterranean gorge von Ernest-Louis Lessieux zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.788,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest-Louis Lessieux mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Young Beauty Paddling By The Dunes, The Ile D' Oléron beobachtet, die im September 2004 für GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.093,37) versteigert wurde.
