In October 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A Continental coastal landscape by Ernest-Louis Lessieux. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 822.50 (€ 1,405.89), 65% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ernest-Louis Lessieux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Young Beauty Paddling By The Dunes, The Ile D' Oléron in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,093.37).

Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Continental coastal landscape von Ernest-Louis Lessieux zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.405,89) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest-Louis Lessieux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Young Beauty Paddling By The Dunes, The Ile D' Oléron im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.093,37).
