Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Under the parasol by Ernest Borough Johnson was sold in the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,609.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Borough Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of the artist and his dog in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,862.08).
