Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of two oriental figures, three-quarter-length, in a capriccio landscape by Ernest Borough Johnson was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,740.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Borough Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of the artist and his dog, which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,862.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of two oriental figures, three-quarter-length, in a capriccio landscape von Ernest Borough Johnson wurde im Juli 2005 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.740,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Borough Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of the artist and his dog beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.862,08) versteigert wurde.
