Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Standing Female Nude by Eric Gill. The price achieved of GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,250.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Joan of Arc in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 3,116,777.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Female Nude von Eric Gill zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.250,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Gill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Joan of Arc im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.210.500,00 (€ 3.116.777,25).
