Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eric Gill could be acquired at Sothebys in London in February 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street auction, the work Foundation Stone From The Old Rectory, Finningham, Suffolk changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,019.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Joan of Arc in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 3,116,777.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eric Gill konnte im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street wechselte die Arbeit Foundation Stone From The Old Rectory, Finningham, Suffolk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.019,93) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Gill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Joan of Arc im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.210.500,00 (€ 3.116.777,25).
