Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Two Gamblers by Ephrem Solomon was sold in the Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery auction at Christies in London in March 2019. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,077.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ephrem Solomon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silence Series, 2017, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,116.56).

Die Arbeit The Two Gamblers von Ephrem Solomon wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.077,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ephrem Solomon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silence Series, 2017 beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.116,56) versteigert wurde.
