Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale, which included the work Gambler 5 by Ephrem Solomon. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,466.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ephrem Solomon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silence Series, 2017 in March last year with an auction result of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,116.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gambler 5 von Ephrem Solomon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.466,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ephrem Solomon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silence Series, 2017 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.116,56).
