Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Returning From The Fields by Epaminondas Thomopoulos. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,361.17), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Epaminondas Thomopoulos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek Reverie, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 31,700.00 (€ 44,388.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Returning From The Fields von Epaminondas Thomopoulos zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.361,17) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Epaminondas Thomopoulos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek Reverie beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 31.700,00 (€ 44.388,20) versteigert wurde.
