Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Greek shepherd And Shepherdess by Epaminondas Thomopoulos for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.67). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Epaminondas Thomopoulos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek Reverie in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 44,388.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Greek shepherd And Shepherdess von Epaminondas Thomopoulos für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.355,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Epaminondas Thomopoulos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greek Reverie im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 44.388,20).
