Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A shepherd and his flock in an orchard by Epaminondas Thomopoulos was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,330.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Epaminondas Thomopoulos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek Reverie in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 44,388.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A shepherd and his flock in an orchard von Epaminondas Thomopoulos wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.330,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Epaminondas Thomopoulos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek Reverie im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 44.388,20).
