In September 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work A poppy field before a Greek village by Epaminondas Thomopoulos. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 2,150.89) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Epaminondas Thomopoulos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek Reverie in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 44,388.20).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A poppy field before a Greek village von Epaminondas Thomopoulos zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 2.150,89) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Epaminondas Thomopoulos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek Reverie im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 44.388,20).
