Despite a disappointment, a good price for England Bangala
When the work Djingabarrabirr at Mandijerra, c. 1980 by England Bangala was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne in April 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 615.00 (€ 511.22). Despite this disappointing result, Djingabarrabirr at Mandijerra, c. 1980 is the most expensive artwork by England Bangala that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für England Bangala
Als die Arbeit Djingabarrabirr at Mandijerra, c. 1980 von England Bangala im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 615,00 (€ 511,22) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Djingabarrabirr at Mandijerra, c. 1980 das teuerste Kunstwerk von England Bangala, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
