This price was achieved in the auction The Imperial Sale, Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Daoguang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven-character Poem in Running Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 980,000.00 (€ 93,753.07).

Die Arbeit Poem In Running Script Calligraphy von Emperor Daoguang war einem Käufer im April 2002 HKD 215.100,00 (€ 30.632,99) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Imperial Sale, Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Emperor Daoguang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Running Script Calligraphy beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 980.000,00 (€ 93.753,07) versteigert wurde.
