Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Dappled Sunlight In The Garden by Octave Guillonnet for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,188.60). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Octave Guillonnet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A siesta in the shade in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 21,342.22).
