Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marchand Tunisien by Émile Edmond Peynot was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2006. The price achieved of USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,714.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Émile Edmond Peynot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Seated Arab Cleaning His Weapons, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 52,875.00 (€ 56,684.18).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.714,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Émile Edmond Peynot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Seated Arab Cleaning His Weapons beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für USD 52.875,00 (€ 56.684,18) versteigert wurde.
