Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work Romanian peasants at the well by Emil Volkers. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,710.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emil Volkers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Saddled Bay Hunter in a Stable with a Dog, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 15,600.00 (€ 13,173.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Romanian peasants at the well von Emil Volkers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.710,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Emil Volkers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Saddled Bay Hunter in a Stable with a Dog beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für USD 15.600,00 (€ 13.173,45) versteigert wurde.
