In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART AND DOGS, which included the work A dappled grey hunter trotting with a groom in a landscape by Emil Volkers. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,880.00 (€ 2,980.03), 57% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Emil Volkers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Saddled Bay Hunter in a Stable with a Dog in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 15,600.00 (€ 13,173.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 57 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART AND DOGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A dappled grey hunter trotting with a groom in a landscape von Emil Volkers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 2.980,03) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emil Volkers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Saddled Bay Hunter in a Stable with a Dog im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.600,00 (€ 13.173,45).
