Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emil Jean Kosa, Jr. achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in November this year. In the California Art auction, the work Autumn Landscape sold for USD 19,200.00 (€ 17,601.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emil Jean Kosa, Jr.; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Art Opening sold at auction in August last year with the realized price of USD 30,600.00 (€ 30,402.38).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Emil Jean Kosa, Jr. erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Autumn Landscape für USD 19.200,00 (€ 17.601,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emil Jean Kosa, Jr.; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Art Opening im August letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 30.600,00 (€ 30.402,38).
