It achieved a price of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,272.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Émile Fuchs; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot King Edward VII sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,581.02).

Die Arbeit Queen Victoria Lying in State von Émile Fuchs wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Two Centuries: American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.272,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Émile Fuchs; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit King Edward VII im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.581,02).
